Your Ultimate Guide to Rainbow Riches Slots

Rainbow Riches is a slot series with a rich history. Developed by Barcrest, a part of parent company Light & Wonder (previously Scientific Games), the Irish luck-themed slot series has long been popular with UK-based players, although it’s accessible to you if you live beyond those shores, too.

While the original slot introduces you to the core elements you need to play any of the subsequent games in the series, some of the latter additions are more technically advanced. Don’t worry about that, though. We’ve explored all twenty-plus games in this series, researched RTP rates, volatility levels, maximum wins, betting ranges and more, compiled our data, and put together this ultimate guide to Rainbow Riches slots.

In this guide, we’ll explain what each Rainbow Riches slot brings to the table, how it is similar and different from its counterparts, and why they are worth playing. If you’ve given some thought to playing Rainbow Riches slots before, but are wondering where to begin and which title is suitable for your gaming style, our guide is all you need.

Introducing the Rainbow Riches Slot Series

Rainbow Riches first debuted at online casinos back in 2009, when Barcrest unveiled the first in the now over twenty-strong series of titles. It made a splash at many UK online casinos and bingo sites, but has since found favour at many casinos located elsewhere – anywhere where Barcrest, or rather, Light & Wonder games are licensed and supported.

Throughout all its modern iterations, the Rainbow Riches slot series hasn’t deviated from its Irish luck theme. Sure, there are titles that feature horse racing and even farming elements, but it’s still about the luck of the Irish at heart, and the leprechaun mascot remains.

Over time, many new additions to the series have been launched. While some new elements have found their way into these games, and titles have experimented with Cluster Pays and Megaways engines, most of the classic mechanics are still present and enjoyed to this day. Maximum wagers have, though, become notably cheaper over the years. Many of today’s newest Rainbow Riches slots have maximum stakes a lot lower than the 500.00 cap we used to see in the earlier games. That’s not altogether unsurprising, though, considering we’re living in a time where responsible gambling is heavily enforced by regulators.

Known for their generous selection of bonus features, there’s plenty to explore in each Rainbow Riches slot release. From progressive jackpots to games with variable RTP rates, there are many possible features to explore. Stick with us as we explain how each game works throughout this guide.

Meet the Rainbow Riches Slots You Can Play Online

At present, there are over twenty games in the Rainbow Riches slot series, and while the rate of new releases has slowed down in recent years, you can still typically expect one or two new slots each year. Below, you’ll find our comprehensive table, which details every game released thus far and its key criteria. Our table makes for the ideal starting point if you want to browse the slot franchise as a whole.

Rainbow Riches slots don’t tend to differ greatly in terms of volatility, with most titles hovering around the medium-high mark. There are, of course, titles that dip into medium or high territories exclusively, but you’d find the difference negligible.

As for RTP, there are two types of rates – fixed and variable. Fixed rates are often fixed at 95% to 96%, give or take. Variable RTP rates can be found in a handful of games, with the exact rate depending on your stake, which, admittedly, not everyone is a fan of, as it encourages you to wager more.

As touched on, we found that the newer the Rainbow Riches slot you play, the more likely you are to find reduced maximum stake limits, often hundreds of credits less than the 500.00 max limit you’ll find in earlier releases. Minimum stakes often start at 0.10 to 0.20, although as older games have adjustable paylines, it is theoretically possible to play for 0.01 a line in some titles, not that we recommend that, of course.

How to Pick the Best Rainbow Riches Games

Unlike some other slot series, Rainbow Riches is a far more balanced franchise. There’s nothing overly brutal, aimed at high or low rollers, or specifically targeting other types of players. Rainbow Riches slots tend to keep things fairly neutral as they aim to appeal to most of you. There are some specific games that sound out, though, and having researched the bunch, here are our top picks:

  • Lowest Volatility: No Rainbow Riches slots support low variance gameplay. However, certain medium-volatile slots stand out above others because they offer the highest prizes. These include Rainbow Riches: Power Mix (12,500x), and Rainbow Riches: Crops of Cash in close second (11,520x), with both games having RTPs of 96% or thereabouts.
  • Highest RTP: Playing one of the Rainbow Riches slots with variable RTPs and a top stake (such as Pick ‘N’ Mix and Reels of Gold), you could benefit from 98% RTP rates. Excluding slots with variable RTPs, then at 96.34%, Cluster Magic is at least balanced, and its RTP rate is always fixed.
  • Biggest Wins: The biggest wins will be those available in the only progressive jackpot in the series – Rainbow Riches: Jackpot O’Luck. As for non-progressives, 12,500x is the most you can win if you play Power Mix or Rainbow Riches Megaways.

Our Top Three Standout Rainbow Riches Slots

We’ve looked at the best Rainbow Riches slots based on low variance, high RTP, and top prizes. However, as huge fans of the slot series, we’ve got our own personal favourites. Here, then, are three types of Rainbow Riches slots that we’ve kept a close eye on and enjoyed for one reason or another:

  • Ideal for New Players: You can’t beat the original Rainbow Riches slot if you’re just starting out. The medium-high variance game features a fixed RTP rate. The reason this game is ideal is that it offers a gentle learning curve to the franchise, and it introduces you to many of the key elements, features and mechanics that reappear in subsequent games in the franchise.
  • Brutal Gameplay: Few games are truly brutal in this series. As variable RTP slots can be played with higher rates if you splash the cash, we won’t count those. If we had to pick one that’s a real challenge, though, it’s Rainbow Riches: Cash Cluster, as its RTP rate is just 89.13%, lower than every other slot in this series.
  • Cheap Gameplay: Keeping your hands on the purse strings is advised if you want to gamble responsibly. With that in mind, opting for games costing just 0.10 a spin is advised. However, you’ll still want a decent return, so the progressive jackpot slot, Jackpot O’Luck, and the highly volatile Power Pitch (with its 10,000x top prize) are recommended if you’re on a budget.
  • The Newest Entry: If you want the latest game, our choice is Rainbow Riches Dream Pots. Launched in 2025, the first game is a remake of the original, but with a new progressive jackpot system in store, known as Dream Pots. It’s believed that this format will expand to other remakes in years to come, with Pick ‘N’ Mix being earmarked as the next game to get the Dream Pots makeover.

Every Rainbow Riches Slot Explained Simply

While there are plenty of similarities in each Irish luck-themed slot in the series, Rainbow Riches slots also diverge from one another in several ways. If you’re stuck for somewhere to start, we’ll introduce you to each title in the series and explain how they work at a basic level. In order of release date, here’s what you need to know:

#1 Rainbow Riches

The very first game in the series, Rainbow Riches, debuted in May 2009. Barcrest’s first game is arguably the best for beginners as it introduces you to many of the core concepts you’ll encounter in later games. This first game features five reels and twenty lines, and while you can adjust the lines to play at just 0.01 per line, per spin, we recommend sticking to minimum stakes of 0.20 a pop. This game has a flat 95% RTP rate and a non-progressive jackpot rising to 500x.

There are three special features to consider in this first game. The Wishing Wells Bonus gives you a choice of three wishing wells to bag a multiplier. The Pots of Gold mode sees spinning pots dish out bronze, silver or gold pot prizes. Like the Wishing Wells Bonus, this mode can offer the top non-progressive prize if you strike it lucky. Lastly, the original Rainbow Riches slot has the Road to Riches feature. Here, the loveable leprechaun will spin a wheel offering you six moves and a “collect” sign. The idea is to move along the path towards the non-progressive jackpot until the “collect” sign is spun, which ends the game, after which you’ll receive whatever prizes you’ve earned along the Road to Riches. As you may have noticed, there’s no free spin round in Rainbow Riches, but the truth is, the game doesn’t need one – there are plenty of other ways to land rich rewards.

Rating: 5/5

#2 Rainbow Riches: Pick ‘N’ Mix

Seven long years after the Rainbow Riches slot first debuted, we were treated to Pick ‘N’ Mix. This was the first game to introduce variable RTP rates (94% to 98%), and interestingly, the RTP rate differs based on your stake, at 94% for 1.00 or less, 96% if it’s over 1.00, and 98% if you use the costly Premium Play mode. Most other aspects, such as wagering ranges, prizes and volatility, remain identical to the very first game. Things are a touch different when it comes to bonuses, though.

Rainbow Riches: Pick ‘N’ Mix asks you how many bonuses you want to play with BEFORE you play. You can reset your choices during gameplay, though. The Road to Riches and Pots of Gold features return here, alongside three new entries. These include a free spins bonus with stacked wilds, and a Magic Toadstools round, which gives you three picks from twenty-four icons to win multipliers. Lastly, the Cash Crop feature supports up to fifty spinning coins, which reveal cash prizes and multipliers until the “collect coin” appears, in a feature that is similar to the Road to Riches mechanic.

Rating: 4/5

#3 Rainbow Riches: Reels of Gold

This game launched six months after its predecessor, and right from the start, you’ll notice that the Reels of Gold slot stands out from its counterparts on account of its 100 paylines. This is because the game features two sets of reels – a five-reel set and Colossal Reels. The game sticks to the variable RTP rates, though, so managing your stake accordingly is important. To help with that, Reels of Gold was the first slot to feature minimum bets of 0.10 per spin.

Any stacked wilds that appear on the main reel set will transfer over to the Colossal Reels, magnifying your wins. Reels of Gold has quite a few randomly triggered features which come from a fairy. She can hit you with Magic Wilds (wilds that move up and down the reels), Wild Burst (random wilds), Magic Symbols (random wishing well symbols), reel multipliers of up to 5x, super stacked wilds, an extra balloon to trigger the free spins round, or a symbol shuffle. The free spin bonus itself is preceded by a pick bonus, which determines how many free games you’ll start the feature with.

Rating: 4/5

#4 Rainbow Riches Free Spins

The only slot released in 2017, Rainbow Riches Free Spins, is a medium variance effort with an RTP rate of 95.17%. It follows its predecessor with minimum bets of 0.10. Played over five reels and ten lines, this slot is arguably one of the most basic in the series. It offers basic wild and scatter gameplay. The shamrock is the main wild, with the free spin symbol doubling as a secondary wild. The only feature to mention here is the free spin round, which offers you between 10 and 20 spins, during which you can retrigger the round to enjoy up to 999 free games. That’s about all there is to it, really.

Rating: 2/5

#5 Rainbow Riches: Fortune Favours

Fortune Favours sees Barcrest return Rainbow Riches to its variable RTP rate, but it’s also the first game to feature a pumped-up non-progressive jackpot worth 2,500x. Launched in March 2018, the slot continues the five-reel, ten-line setup. Once more, the fairy can make an appearance, this time transforming into mystery symbols. The only other feature in the game is a wild, but that’s only accessible if you opt for its Big Bet mode, which seems a little harsh. Understandably, Fortune Favours is one of our least favourite titles in this series, even if it does offer wins relatively frequently.

Rating: 2/5

#6 Rainbow Riches: Drops of Gold

Launched in the summer of 2018, Drops of Gold does things differently, providing up to fifty paylines for you to bet on, and still costing as little as 0.10 a spin. Again, you’ve got variable RTP rates, and the Premium Play mode is present to increase the RTP rate, which isn’t something everyone is impressed with.

Rainbow Riches: Drops of Gold has two primary features to consider. The first of these is the classic free spin bonus, which is triggered by scatters and offers up to 16 free spins (up to 32 if retriggered). The best thing about the slot is the Drops of Gold Bonus, though, which can occur at the end of any spin. When this happens, all symbols that land in the Drop Zone above the reels drop down onto the reels, magnifying your wins. It’s a nice touch and definitely helps Drops of Gold stand out from its predecessors.

Rating: 3/5

#7 Rainbow Riches: Home Sweet Home

Sticking with the fifty-line setup, Home Sweet Home was the first game to really try to introduce a new aspect to the Irish luck theme. Launched in November 2018, Home Sweet Home supports the same paylines, wagers, prizes, volatility and RTP rates as Drops of Gold. Thai means the Big Bet/Premium Play option is available for you if you reside outside the UK. However, it differs in terms of features.

With Rainbow Riches: Home Sweet Home, Barcrest introduced the Knock Knock mechanic, which is used if a leprechaun pops up on the first reel. He’ll open two or more doors above the reels, and they can contain symbols of the fairy. Any symbols matching those behind the doors (and the leprechaun) will turn wild on the reels, while the fairy turns up to five symbols into wilds. A free spin bonus is included, too. We found that if the bonus is triggered during the Knock Knock feature, any wilds unlocked will remain so for the duration of the feature, which is definitely something you’ll want to happen.

Rating: 4/5

#8 Rainbow Riches: Leprechauns Gold

Given that the entire premise of Rainbow Riches is a leprechaun protecting gold, it’s surprising that it took until January 2019 to get a game that features him in the title. In Leprechauns Gold, the volatility drops to medium, and the non-progressive prize rises to 1,085x a stake. That’s not all, though – there are seven reels in play here, supporting the same fifty lines as found in the slot’s two predecessors.

Leprechauns Gold is packed with features. The leprechaun triggers his own bonus round, throwing bonus symbols across the reels in the hope of triggering one. The Rainbow Ring round features a fortune wheel offering free spins, bonus rounds or random wilds. A free spin bonus has been included, and the Wishing Well Bonus makes a welcome return after a seven-game absence, delivering multipliers to boost your winnings.

Rating: 5/5

#9 Rainbow Riches Megaways

Launched in the summer of 2019, this game needs little introduction. It does, of course, bring the Megaways engine to the Rainbow Riches franchise, and that means an increased jackpot worth 12,500x, but also extremely high volatility, arguably as high as it gets in this slot franchise.

There are up to 117,649 ways to win here, as is customary for Megaways games, and we appreciated the increased RTP rate of 96%. You have, of course, the cascading reels feature in play, alongside a Super Gem Bonus that acts as a symbol transformation bonus. The Pot of Gold Bonus makes a welcome return, offering free spins, while a multiplier is applied to any wins you successfully chain together in the feature – more importantly, it is uncapped, even when you lose during the bonus.

Rating: 4/5

#10 Rainbow Riches: Jackpot O’Luck

The only progressive jackpot slot in the Rainbow Riches series, Jackpot O’Luck only has fifteen lines over its five reels, and a shockingly low RTP rate of 94.23%. However, there are still plenty of reasons to play this spring 2020 release. For starters, it has that progressive jackpot. Secondly, it’s ranked medium on the volatility scale and playable for as little as 0.10 a spin. Theoretically, the progressive jackpot can be won from any bet at random, but your chances are increased if you wager larger sums, with the jackpot seeded at 50,000.

The only bonus in the game begins when you choose one of fifteen barrels. You can win the jackpot by spelling jackpot with this pick bonus, or you can win up to 25 free spins with 5x multipliers, which doesn’t apply to the jackpot, of course. It is possible to retrigger the round, too.

Rating: 5/5

#11 Rainbow Riches: Cluster Magic

With a name like Cluster Magic, this Rainbow Riches slot was always going to ditch conventional payline structures for a Cluster Pays setup. The RTP is decent here, at 96.3%, while at 5,000x, the non-progressive jackpot is worth pocketing, too. Launched in June 2020, the game has medium-high variance and can be played over a 4×4 grid for as little as 0.20 per spin. Naturally, to land wins, you simply need to group together clusters (or groups) of symbols, making winning a touch easier than with traditional paylines.

A 4×4 grid might not seem like much, but that doubles to 8×8 if you unlock the extra spaces through cascading wins. That will also trigger the slot’s free spin round. Here, a prize wheel will determine which of three rounds you get to play. The Infinity Games gives you an infinite number of spins (well, not really, up to 250 in all) with uncapped increasing multipliers until you lose. Alternatively, you might land the Persisting Wilds bonus, which offers two wild symbols guaranteed on each cascade. Lastly, the Wild Magic feature promises four to sixteen wild symbols on the reels.

Rating: 5/5

#12 Rainbow Riches: Rising Wins

Rainbow Riches: Rising Wins first appeared in August 2020, which was a fairly busy year for Rainbow Riches releases. This particular game opts for a conventional five-reel interface with twenty-five lines. Its RTP is a reliable 95.9% while prizes can reach 5,000x, and volatility is set to medium. This is the only Rainbow Riches slot with a minimum bet of 0.25 per spin. Barcrest keeps the cascading mechanic here, even incorporating a Rainbow Meter that rises to 20x when you chain together successive wins. That’s about it for special features. It’s also worth noting that you’ll only find the slot at a handful of sites, as it’s a limited release. It is one of the only examples of this in the slot series. You’re not missing much if you can’t find the game, though.

Rating: 2/5

#13 Rainbow Riches: Midnight Magic

The last slot released in 2020, Rainbow Riches: Midnight Magic, has a decent 96% RTP rate, and it continues the medium variance action of the last few games, but drops the minimum stake back to just 0.10 a spin. The prize is also reduced to just 1,000x. New features debut for the first time in a while in Midnight Magic, though. The first of these is upgradeable scatters. These can transform selected symbols into higher-paying icons. During the free spin round, this will convert them into wilds. The free spin bonus offers up to 20 spins. There is also a Super Dial mode. Double your stake to trigger this, which increases your chances of landing the free spin bonus or cash prizes worth up to 5x.

Rating: 3/5

#14 Rainbow Riches: Race Day

Many slot series have taken on a horse racing theme – Big Bass Bonanza springs to our minds for a start. In Race Day, you’ve got a very unique six-reel, 4,096 ways to win setup, something vastly different from anything else you’ll find in Rainbow Riches slots, and it only costs 0.20 a spin to play. Launched in February 2021, the game is medium variance and has an RTP of 96.25%, and a non-progressive jackpot worth a cool 8,333x your stake.

Cascading reels continue to appear in this slot entry, and there’s the customary free spin bonus to boot. Free spins continue until you win one of the pots above the reels. There are five pots (one for each horse). Once a horse appears on the reels, it will move closer to winning on the screen above the reels. Once a horse reaches the end, you’ll win whatever pot that horse is tied to, with the pink horse/pot being the most valuable. Race Day is a nice departure in terms of gameplay, although it sees the game arguably deviate from the Irish luck theme more than any other entry in the Rainbow Riches slot series.

Rating: 5/5

#15 Rainbow Riches Cash Cluster

Cash Cluster is very different from the other Cluster Pays game in the Rainbow Riches range. This release has a shockingly low RTP rate of 89.13%, and a low non-progressive prize of 500x. It’s about as brutal as Rainbow Riches slots get, and costs between 0.10 and 30.00 a spin. Launched in November 2021, the game is easily supplantable for the Cluster Magic slot.

Rainbow Riches: Cash Cluster doesn’t play like a typical slot. It features an 8×6 grid, with each symbol acting as a reel. It doesn’t feature conventional clusters, either. Instead, you will collect symbols to fill the meters to the left of the reels in clusters, with a red box determining which part of the reels you can collect symbols from. You’ll get five spins to collect as many as possible (and win), before the meters reset. The slot includes Road to Riches and Pots of Gold bonuses, to boot. If you like weird games, this one definitely fits the bill, but it’s a tough sell for many.

Rating: 2/5

#16 Rainbow Riches: Power Mix

December 2021 saw Rainbow Riches: Power Mix debut, and it brought back the whopping 12,500x non-progressive jackpot we loved in the Megaways Rainbow Riches slot, and it’s got four sets of five reels, each with ten lines up for grabs for the low cost of 0.20 a spin. An RTP of 96.09% is decent, and medium variance gameplay should suit you. Once again, you’re asked to pick bonuses before gameplay, with some legendary options returning here.

The Road to Riches bonus makes a welcome return, as does the Pots of Gold feature. Magic Toadstool is back, there’s a free spin round, extra scatter wilds, and an all-new feature – the Power Mix Bonus. That sees all four reels in the game transform into one, with modifiers and re-spins part of this package, which can help you get closer to winning the joint-highest-paying non-progressive jackpot in the franchise.

Rating: 4/5

#17 Rainbow Riches: Rainbow Frenzy

The first new release of 2022 (in March), Rainbow Frenzy launched with a smaller 2,000x non-progressive jackpot, and a sub-par 94.96% RTP rate. On the upside, it offers medium volatility and costs just 0.10 a spin. For that, you get to spin five reels and ten lines. The main attractions here include a free spin bonus, with Super Spins a possibility if you land all five scatters – in short, doubled wins. Look out for the leprechaun mascot, too, as the returning Pots of Gold feature delivers wins worth up to 50x through him.

Rating: 3/5

#18 Rainbow Riches: Crops of Cash

Launched in time for Christmas 2022, Crops of Cash offers up to 1,024 ways to win over five reels, and its RTP rate is at the industry standard limit of 96%. Costing a minimum of 0.20 a spin, the slot offers medium volatile action. The Crops of Cash featured in the slot isn’t the same as the Cash Crop mode from Pick ‘N’ Mix. It works quite differently and has more in common with Hold and Win mechanics.

In short, once six or more coins trigger it, you’re given three lives. You must then land coins to bag cash prizes while leprechauns reset your life counters. Blanks eliminate your lives one by one. An impressive non-progressive jackpot worth 11,520x is up for grabs if you strike it lucky here, making it one of the friendlier Rainbow Riches slots to explore.

Rating: 4/5

#19 Rainbow Riches: Power Pitch

October 2022 saw the release of Rainbow Riches: Power Pitch. This game carries on the high-paying jackpot of its predecessor (slightly reduced to 10,000x) but switches gameplay to a high volatility rating. Playable for 0.10 a spin with a 96% RTP rate, this slot returns the action to a pure Irish luck theme, and with it, some familiar mechanics make their reappearance.

Skipping over the Premium Play mode (which offers a mini-game for cash prizes or features), we’ll talk about the Power Pitch bonus. This offers a hold and spin mechanic, with modifiers that can increase the grid size up to 11×5. You’ll receive three re-spins for this mode, where modifiers such as Wishing Wheel (adds all multipliers), Fairy (doubles multipliers), Rainbow (adds to the re-spins) and Leprechaun (increases the multiplier of adjacent symbols up to 10x) can come into play. Fill the screen with symbols in this hold and win feature to win the non-progressive jackpot.

Rating: 4/5

#20 Rainbow Riches Deluxe

Rainbow Riches Deluxe is a classic, upgraded version of the original game. Played over five reels and ten lines, it is slightly modified. For instance, the bonus trail (Road to Riches) mechanic returns and prizes are now worth up to 2,000x. The volatility has been raised a touch, but stakes cost just 0.10, and the RTP rate is a decent 96%, higher than the original.

Released in October 2023, the slot makes the Road to Riches-like feature its only bonus round. However, it does introduce a few modifiers into the mix, many of which are loosely based on previous entries. These include Fairy (increases the Mushroom and Gold Pot values), Mushroom (keeps the dice rolling), Rainbow Pot (collects prizes and triples a re-roll), and Win Multiplier Pot, which offers a multiplier worth between 2x and 768x.

#21 Rainbow Riches: Locomotion

The second newest Rainbow Riches slot debuted in April 2024. In this game, you’re once again offered five reels and ten lines. Prizes can reach 1,037.5x a stake here, with medium variance action possible, and stakes starting at 0.10 a spin. At 96.25%, Locomotion’s RTP rate is one of the best in the series.

The jewel in this entry’s crown is the Locomotion Bonus. Triggered by gold coin scatters, it offers a hold and win feature, with just gold coins and blank spaces featuring on the reels. Known as Hyper Reels, you’ll get three spins to bag as much as you can (with further spins offered when gold coins land). A free spin feature is also present, offering expanding wilds. The three central reels can also combine to become a mega symbol, while gold coins can also trigger the Hyper Reels round during the free spin feature. A gamble/risk feature is present (oddly enough), but you’ll likely ignore that. The only thing worth mentioning is that the Previous Play mechanic is back.

#22 Rainbow Riches Dream Pots

Rainbow Riches Dream Pots debuted in January 2025. The game is a modern remake of the original Rainbow Riches slot, albeit with sharper graphics and one very key new feature – Dream Pots. This new method for delivering progressive prizes is bonus-based and gives you an alternative way to walk away with big prizes, but the RTP is just 94%. This won’t be the only Rainbow Riches slot to be remade with the Dream Pots mechanic, but it is the first and most recent one.

Stakes cost between 0.10 and just 10.00 in this medium variance slot. Naturally, because it’s a remake, you can expect to see the Wishing Well and Pots of Gold features, and a Rainbow Road mode appears. Make it to the end of the Rainbow Road to have a crack at the jackpot wheel, where you can lead consolation prizes or one of the five-coloured jackpots.

Other Rainbow Riches Games

Outside of the mainstream slots, there are other Rainbow Riches in Barcrest and Light & Wonder’s library that feature the same theme. In fact, there are three other Rainbow Riches games we want to touch on briefly here.

  • Rainbow Riches Slingo: A UK favourite, this game features the same slot and bingo combination gameplay as other Slingo titles. You’ll be looking to fill a 5×5 screen with identical symbols to land prizes, much as you would in a bingo game. It has a 95.6% RTP rate and like its online slot counterparts, Rainbow Riches Slingo offers medium variance gameplay.
  • Rainbow Riches: Leapin’ Leprechauns: Leapin’ Leprechauns is an instant win game. Help the leprechaun navigate a series of jumps (like in a platforming video game) to win prizes worth up to 100x your bet in this game, which acts more like a slot spin-off or bonus round than a dedicated, separate title. Leapin’ Leprechauns has an RTP rate of 96.10% and offers gameplay that is deemed to be in the middle of the volatility scale.
  • Rainbow Riches: Rainbow Reveal: The first thing you’ll notice about this game is that it has a low RTP rate of just 87%. However, it’s not a slot, so that’s not as bad as it first seems. Rainbow Reveal gives you the chance to play three games in one, each of which works in largely the same way as a scratch card. You can choose which games to play, and match symbols to win and possibly trigger the Pots of Gold bonus, where prizes worth up to 10,000x await you.

Any of these games will give you a slice of something different. If you’ve enjoyed Rainbow Riches slots, and want to have a stab at the franchise outside of slot gameplay, then any of those three titles could suffice, assuming your casino supports them.

5 Top Tips for Playing Rainbow Riches Slots from Fans

With over twenty titles to choose from, there are plenty of rich, feature-heavy titles in Barcrest’s Rainbow Riches. Having played each and every game, and being firm fans of the series as a whole, we’ve put together some top tips for choosing Rainbow Riches slots, and they go a little something like this:

  • While there have been all sorts of decent additions to the slot series over the years, we still can’t shake the very first game. It is nothing short of legendary, and it's perfect for beginners to get to grips with many of the same mechanics they’ll encounter in later games.
  • Every Rainbow Riches slot, even the progressive jackpot-paying Jackpot O’Luck, can be played for free as demos. We recommend taking advantage of this bounty, as it will help you learn how each game works and is different from its predecessors and counterparts before you risk your own balance playing for real money.
  • Because some Rainbow Riches games have varying RTP rates, we encourage you to check out the specifics of any game before playing. It may be that you have to use the Premium Play mode for 98% RTP rates, so don’t hesitate to browse around for other Rainbow Riches slots with fixed RTPs.
  • If you’re based in the United Kingdom, then you’ll be unable to make use of the so-called Premium Play mode (and thus, miss out on the 98% RTP rate). This is a buy-a-bonus feature in all but name, and as UK residents will know, that’s not on the cards if casinos want to keep their UKGC-issued licenses.
  • Don’t go looking for titles aimed at high rollers, low rollers, those favouring low variance action, or other specifics. Barcrest’s Rainbow Riches slots don’t work like that. In fact, apart from RTP, max bets and prizes are all rather balanced in terms of gameplay, making any title suitable for most of you.

Play Rainbow Riches Slots Online Today

Rainbow Riches slots have continually reinvented themselves over the last fifteen years. They keep bringing the same cheeky leprechaun and Irish luck-inspired action back without going stale or being too samey. Moreover, the games keep evolving to fit modern standards, as you can see from the reduction in the maximum stake limit.

Having played and enjoyed most titles in this series, we’re confident that you’ll find something to your liking. Moreover, because most subsequent games are built on top of the successful aspects of previous games, it isn’t a major leap to jump from one game in the 20+ strong library to another without having to learn everything anew. This makes having a crack at virtually any Rainbow Riches slot worthwhile at your favourite online casinos.
